About Me:
If you see the Buddha, take him to lunch.
I want to stay immersed in the pulse of life, not a soul sapping 9-5. I love people more than things and silence more than sound. I like to think that a rich man is rich in proportion to the number of things which he can afford to let alone (hdt). Principles are the foundation of my decisions…or at least that's the aim. To be spontaneous is to be free and to be free is to be able to be spontaneous, such is life, full of paradox.
“Life is not a mystery to be solved but a reality to be experienced!” -Joseph Campbell
“Love is the answer,
at least to most of the questions in my heart…”
-Jack Johnson
“The things which matter most should never be at the mercy of the things which matter least” -Goethe
Books: I simply cannot learn enough. The more I learn, the more questions I have and the more I hunger to learn. Books are one of my small addictions.
Food: Coooking and eating food is one (1) of the greatest pleasures in life. Especially when enjoyed with the right people. Sustenance derived from good times eating and laughing with friends is just as important as the nutrition in the food, don't you think?
Laughter: is my favorite thing to do. Laughing through life is simply the only way to live. It is too easy to forget how to genuinely laugh…to see the humor in daily life.
Here and Now: If you think that the past and the future exist… I can't exactly agree. All that truely exists at this very moment is ofcourse!… This very moment itself! So why live in past memories? Sure… learn all you can from them, cherish them as jewels… but don't keep living IN them or THROUGH them. Plan for the future all you want, but do it from HERE and NOW. Don't live in a fantasy world of Temporary existence. In other words, “as soon as I get more money, I will….” or “just as soon as I find some more time, I'll…..” or “when the moment is right…” or “tomorrow, real life will start.” Stopping living a “temporary” life and start living a life in the moment…. deriving all you can from it while giving at least as much back. How could this not bring happiness?
Love and Family: I'm lucky enough to have a huge family whom I love more than life itself. In the end, what have you? Cars? Houses? Diamonds? Stocks? In the end, all you have are those whom you love and who love you back. Love is not the question but the answer. As far as ultimate goals in life go, finding 'true' love and having a family of my own is far superior to any other I can imagine.
